Individual Psychotherapy

Our practice involves counselling and psychotherapy with adults, adolescents and children age six and over.  Through individual counselling and psychotherapy we help people heal and recover from emotional, physical and sexual abuse, childhood trauma, depression, substance abuse, interpersonal conflict, employment stress and school difficulties.  We help people find personal happiness.

Personal Happiness:

Personal happiness is an elusive commodity in today's fast paced world, especially if you are struggling with one or more of the above challenges. It means doing the following:

  1. Liking yourself and the people you share your life with;
  2. Having faith in yourself and being honest with yourself about your strengths and weaknesses;
  3. Being assertive in your life yet respecting the rights of others;
  4. Actively pursuing your interests and dreams;
  5. Being open and honest with friends and family.

Whether you are feeling the fatigue, listlessness and sadness of depression

or

the stress of anxiety

or

the trauma of childhood abuse

or

some other personal challenge

Counselling Associates can help you.

We are here to help you from beginning to end.  We can help you to cope with the initial stages of your personal challenge.  We help clients deal with the sadness, fatigue and lack of energy that some people feel when initially beginning to deal with a personal challenge.  Some people need to cope with the trauma, crisis or emotional instability that surface when dealing with certain types of challenges, especially issues of abuse.

Through individual therapy, within a supportive, nurturing environment, Counselling Associates can provide emotional support and assistance through difficult times.

Remember, reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not a sign of weakness.
